ACROSS COPENHAGEN (2021)
SHORT FILM BY Louise Warberg RESEARCHING ONLINE CULTURAL IDENTITY.

During the pandemic, travel across borders as well as our own door step became problematic for us all. Being an expat located in London but with family in Copenhagen, these geographical restrictions hit home quite literally. As many others, I too found refuge in my electronic devices which kept me connected with those living 20 minutes away as well as in other parts of the world. I found myself using my online access to nurture my Danish cultural identity and sense of belonging. As a filmmaker, this experience could be expressed through my work. As such, this short film looks into how cultural identity lives online as well as how parts of our lives can be immortalised through the internet.

COTTAGECORE: AN INTERNET AESTHETIC (2021)
A 20 MIN DESKTOP DOCUMENTARY BY Louise Warberg. PRESENTED AT THE VISUAL ANTHROPOLOGY SHOWCASE 2021.
An open field with fluffy cows bathed in golden light, red button mushrooms covering the forest floor, the smell of baked focaccia decorated with your homegrown rosemary, this is the sensation that users of cottagecore aspire towards. The internet aesthetic presents a rural romanticized life outside of capitalism, patriarchy, and consumerism - or so we might assume at first wonderful glance. Cottagecore consists of online visual content which is reposted by millions around the world. This short film investigates this visual subculture in the style of a desktop documentary to make out; is there more to Cottagecore than merely a rose-tinted and imagined version of rural life?

EXTREME WEATHER (2020)
ARCHIVE SHORT FILM BY Louise Warberg RETELLING THE STORY OF CLIMATE CHANGE THROUGH DISNEY.

Climate change. A term my generation has grown up with closely, it now possesses a subconscious and haunting characteristic. In this 3 minute short film, not even our dear childhood friends Winnie the Pooh or Mickey Mouse are safe from the devastating causes of the industrial revolution and lack of environmental action from the older generations. This archive film is edited and cut together using clips from around 10 visual works from Walt Disney Productions. Created as a visual anthropology research piece (Goldsmiths University).
